Tool #5

I really liked using the social bookmarking sites. I was not familiar with either Delicious or Diigo before today.

I explored both sites and decided to join Delicious. I thought that it was more user friendly than Diigo. I'm sure that Diigo is great, but I felt that Delicious was better suited to my needs.

I searched Delicious using tag words like "art", "elementary art", and "elementary art lessons". I immediately came across two awesome blogs! They are both created by art teachers, and feature tons of lesson plans and ideas. One is called Painted Paper, and the other is Deep Space Sparkle. I can't wait to try out some of the lessons.

My favorite thing about using Delicious is being able to look at the bookmarks of other people who have saved the same sites as me. I found several other awesome websites this way.

I have a feeling that Delicious will become a very important tool used in my classroom. The research abilities are endless, and the organization features will keep information from becoming overwhelming.
